Virtual currency, real balance
Every prediction on Esport Scanner uses virtual Scanner Points. No real money changes hands at any point on our platform. Points have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn — see our Terms of service for the full statement.
That said, the experience deliberately borrows the language and aesthetics of real betting (operators, odds, bet slips). Even with virtual stakes, repeating reward loops can take up more of your time and headspace than you intend. This page is here to help you spot it before it does.
Healthy habits
- Set a session length. If you're predicting matches for more than an hour without a break, it's worth one. Stretch. Refill water. Look at something farther than your screen for 20 seconds.
- Notice the urge to "win it back." The chase is the most reliable signal that the activity has stopped being fun. Virtual points still trigger the same dopamine loops that make real bettors chase losses.
- Sleep is more valuable than streaks. Daily-streak features (and our own EsDailyStreak) are designed to reward consistency, not staying up to maintain them. Missing a day is fine.
- Talk to someone if it stops being fun. Friends, family, your GP. The signal is consistent across cultures: when you're hiding the activity from people who care about you, it's time to step back.
If you (or someone you know) is struggling with real-money gambling
Esport Scanner's virtual-points model is deliberately non-monetary, but if this page found its way to you because of a real-money gambling concern, please know that free, confidential support exists:
- UK: BeGambleAware · GAMSTOP (self-exclusion across UK-licensed sites)
- EU: Gambling Therapy (multilingual, free)
- US: National Council on Problem Gambling · helpline 1-800-GAMBLER
- Anywhere: Gamblers Anonymous (international meeting finder)
None of these services charge for help. They will not ask for payment information.
18+ only
Esport Scanner is intended for users aged 18 and over. We don't accept signups from anyone under 18. If you're a parent or guardian and you believe a minor has registered an account, please contact us and we will close it.
