BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 Preview - 32 Teams, $1.15M and a Unique Format
BLAST Bounty Season 2 runs July 21-26 with 32 teams competing for $1.15M. Spirit, Vitality and Falcons headline a stacked field - but the bounty format means any upset could pay out big.
BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 kicks off on July 21st and runs through July 26th, bringing together 32 of the best CS2 teams in the world for an online qualifier stage with $1.15 million on the line. The top 8 teams advance to the LAN Finals in Malta (July 30 - August 2). Here is everything you need to know before the tournament begins.
How the Format Works
BLAST Bounty uses a unique elimination bracket where lower-seeded teams get to pick their opponents from the higher seeds. Every team enters with a bounty attached - top seeds carry bounties of around $60,000, while lower seeds enter with nothing to lose. When a team eliminates a higher-seeded opponent, they claim 50% of that team's bounty immediately, with the remaining 50% carrying forward. It is a format that rewards upsets and makes every single match financially meaningful.
Teams need two Bo3 wins to qualify for the LAN Finals. Every loss is elimination. No second chances.
Teams to Watch
Team Vitality enter as one of the clear favorites. They have been one of the most consistent sides in tier-1 CS2 and the online format suits their disciplined playstyle. Expect them to be a tough out for whoever they face.
Team Spirit are another team that cannot be overlooked. Spirit have the firepower and the mental composure to run through online brackets - they thrive when stakes are high and have shown they can peak at the right time.
Falcons are the third name everyone is talking about. Their roster is built around raw individual skill which tends to shine online. If their stars are clicking, they could go all the way to Malta.
G2 Esports and FaZe Clan are also seeded high and will be expected to reach the LAN Finals. Both have the depth and experience to navigate a tough bracket, though both have also shown they can be upset on any given day online.
The MongolZ are the wildcard. They play an aggressive, unpredictable style that can dismantle structured teams and have already proven they can compete at the very top of the game.
Notable Absence - NaVi Miss Out
One of the bigger stories heading into the tournament is that Natus Vincere did not receive an invitation. NaVi are still rebuilding and their recent results have not been strong enough to earn a spot. For a team of their history and fanbase, missing a $1.15M event is significant and adds pressure to their rebuild going forward.
The Bounty Hunter Angle
The format creates an interesting meta-game around seed selection. Lower-seeded teams will study their potential opponents carefully before picking their targets. A team like SINNERS or HOTU could specifically target a higher seed they have recently beaten or feel confident against - and if they pull off the upset, they pocket real money on top of advancing. This is what makes BLAST Bounty different from every other online qualifier.
Predictions
Our pick for the top seeds to reach Malta: Vitality, Spirit, Falcons, G2, FaZe, The MongolZ, MOUZ, and either GamerLegion or Astralis taking the last spot. The wild card upset we are watching for comes from The MongolZ targeting one of the bigger names early and riding momentum through the bracket.
